Wild neighbors: Groundhog day in Charlotte Park
We spotted this furry creature roaming the neighborhood twice in the past week. It looks like a groundhog, or woodchuck, to us. (You can read groundhog info from National Geographic here.) If you've seen similar wildlife around, please post a comment.

I&;ll have to look for it when I&;m in the area. I don&;t live in Charlotte Park, but near Robertson Ave, Lovell Ave & Snyder Ave. I think it&;s called the Cockrell Farm Subdivision(?). My favorite has been a beautiful juvenile Coopers Hawk look for lunch of the little birds at my feeders. A few years later I saw a huge adult Coopers Hawk doing the same. Probably the exact same bird.Bob

I mentioned this to you already, but my friend Ali spotted a coyote on the Sylvan Park Greenway last week. Did you ever read Kingsolver&;s Prodigal Summer? Coyotes always remind me of it.
