CBS News: Corps estimates dam failure could cost 50-120 lives, billions of dollars
CBS Nightly News today reported an official with the Army Corps of Engineers said failure of the troubled Wolf Creek Dam could mean the loss of 50-120 human lives downstream. The report also said potential damage to the City of Nashville "would be measured in the billions."A failure at the dam likely would cause flooding downstream along the Cumberland River. Additional coverage of the dam, including a map of potential flood areas in Charlotte Park, can be seen here.
